ISR Students

Cambodia's Hope

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.”  At ISR, not only do we want to be part of that change, we also want to teach our students such values. This is why we support the charity, “Cambodia’s Hope.”

Cambodia’s Hope is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 2003. Its mission is to support and maintain existing orphanages and schools in Cambodia via organizations named, The Alphabet Soup Project, Palm Tree Orphanage, and The Farm Project.

The Palm Tree Orphanage was also founded in 2003 and has approximately 160 children.  ISR intends to help build on a new classroom at the orphanage; construction of it would take around 120 days and cost approximately $20,000 USD.  As the number of children at the Palm Tree Orphanage increases, so does the need for space as well as more teaching support. The Palm Tree Orphanage needs English, computer science, pre-school, art and music teachers. The organization would also like to increase salaries and training for its current teaching body. At present, the Palm Tree Orphanage has seven staff members attending university, and several others are studying English and other subjects.

Since August 2009, ISR has raised over 8.700€ for the orphanage.  As a result, the orphanage children and staff sent us this:

ISR’s ultimate goal is to facilitate ISR students who choose to visit and volunteer there during school holidays.
